  • Question

  • Hi,

    I have a clean Server 2008 64bit install running Sql2005 64 Bit, MOSS 2007 SP1, and CRM 4.0.

When I attempt to run CRMv4.0-KB952858-i386-Server-INTL.exe I get an error message saying

    action Microsoft.Crm.UpdateWrapper.DBUpdateAction failed.

The following registry key cannot be opened: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRM\

    Immediately after uncompressing.

I have read another post mentioning that this is becuase they it's not a 64 bit app. ON the download page the only 64 bit version is for AMD which I'm not running.

    Any suggestions.

    Thanks,
    Adam

  • If you have a 64 bit server (including non AMD) You need to install the 64 bit version.  When you see AMD64, it is all 64 bit systems, including Intel.  AMD64 is the standard.

  • Thanks Joel,

MS, in my opinion should simply call it X64 as they do with the bulk of 64 bit apps to remove the confusion.
