I purchased a refurbished pc about a year ago. It has what I think is a valid COA, but it states that it is refurbished.
I would like to use the microsoft antivirus software, but windows won't validate.
Have tried adding the plugin they suggest and can't locate it so I assume it didn't install.Used to have firefox as my default, but since switched it to explorer.

Your problem is the Time settings - Whereabouts are you?Your Computer thinks you are in the US Central Time Zone.If you're not, but the clock is still correct, then that's the source of your problems. Go to Regional Settings, and set the Zone properly, then reset the clock back to the right time.Go back tohttp://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate, and see what it has to say this timeif it fails again, go back to the Diags site and see what has changed this time.Post a new MGADiag when you're done.
