Cannot valid Windows 7 when trying tp upgrade to Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I follow the steps in the upgrade application and get to a point where I have downloaded and installed WindowsActivationUpdate.exe and then it tries to validate and I get a message in the browser which says:

The validation service couldn't determine whether the copy of Windows that is running on your computer is genuine. Please try to validate Windows again. If you keep getting validation errors, try to again later or contact support.

  • The installation is counterfeit.

The installed Product Key is the infamous Lenovo Stolen Key - never valid on any machine.

The SLIC Table is apparently from an HP machine, while your machine is an ASUS one.

Your machine was manufactured after the release of Windows 8 - which means that it could not possibly have an OEM_SLP Key for Windows7 Ultimate.

For which version and edition of Windows does it have a license sticker? (if there is one at all?).

You need to reformat and reinstall using genuine media and Key
