  • Question

  • I am temporarily (1 to 2 years) in Germany from the United States and have not been able to validate my Windows Software even though I have a product key.  I ran a diagnostic based on forum answers and I am posting the results for someone to tell me what is going on.  I am running Window XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2.  Let me know if you need additional info to help me.  Thanks.

The installation of Windows on this computer is NOT the one with which the computer was originally installed - it's a Geo-Blocked Volume License Key that's in use.
If you're lucky, you may be able to change the Key to that on your COA sticker, using the Product Key Update Tool - see here for details...

Having said that, it appears that you also have installed a version of Office which was only ever sold in bulk to organisations for use on their own machines.
If you are a member of such an organisation, then you should contact your System Administrator before doing anything else!

  • Hello dmbcomputeruser,

Please post the full unedited output of the report.

Also, please provide info as follows:  Please look on the computer for a Certificate of Authenticity (CoA).  If there is a CoA, please tell us what version and edition of Windows is listed on the CoA, and if there is a manufacturer's name or "OEM Software" or "OEM Product" printed on the CoA.  Do not post the product key printed on the CoA.
