  • Hi Savita,

If possible you can do same registry changes in CRM 2011. But I am sure MSFT have taken rid over it.

But I am not finding a single instance of doing so. If you want user to assign role then simply give them proper authorization. Why you are going with all the unsupported operations ?

    Thanks and regards,

  • Thanks Hiren,

i tried applying same registry in 2011 ,but it is not working.

My requirement is like i have two group of user - one who actually uses crm and perform changes and other who just assign security roles to these user

I don't want people from second group to perform any changes in crm.

    Thanks

    Savita

  • Hi Savita,

This is possible, however the user needs administrative license and I believe it needs a security role. with ru10 an issue was fixed which allows the ability for other users that don't use CRM assign roles and allocate licenses with an administrative license which does not count as a full license.

In summary, what you want to do is allow someone to assign permissions without using a full license and with RU10 this should now be available.

    Hope this helps
