Can MapPoint display a single data value for each county being mapped? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to create a map like the one on the page linked below using MapPoint.  I can create the shaded counties without any difficulty.  However, I cannot figure out how to display a single data value per county, such as those highlighted in white in the image found at the link below.  Is this possible?  If so, how do I accomplish this.

    Thanks.

  • Some of the dataset types will display the number. You could import the data twice - once as shaded area, and second using one of the other dataset types. You're not going to get the white highlight, and some of the numbers might be hard to read, but it should work.

You could even use pushpins and display "balloons" (pop up windows) - these would be clearer but show the number and the name (e.g. county name). The map could get cluttered, but this could be improved by creating a custom 1x1px pushpin.
