Windows Media Player 11 - validate without internet

Question
-
I have a windows XP pro computer that is not connected to the internet. It has a valid (and validated) version of XP Pro SP2 installed on it. It also has Windows Media player 11 installed on it, however it will not play anything because it wants to validate. It can't validate because it's not connected to the internet. Is there a way to validate without the internet?

Denise,
You will need to validate Windows XP Pro and Media Player 11 by connecting the computer to the internet. Also you may contact the Microsoft Update Solution Center @ http://support.microsoft.com/ph/6527#tab0 for further guidance. This forum is geared for Windows Genuine Advantage situations. Do you have the means for connecting this computer and validating via an internet connection?
Hope I was able to help you more Denise.

unfortunately, I do not have the means to connect this computer to the internet - otherwise this issue wouldn't really be much of an issue (if at all).
I found a temporary way around this - by uninstalling 11 and then installing 9 (does not require validation) - however, I still need to find an answer to this as I am sure that 9 will be insufficient on this computer in the future.
My windows XP pro box does not come up with the WGA error, so I can only assume that it has been validated (and passed).Monday, June 23, 2008 5:48 PM -
