Question

Hello,
I started getting a message that my copy of Windows is not Genuine and its the same one that came with the machine. Emachine suggested that I use the system recovery disk and the problem would be fixed. I did it and the message came up again a short time after. I ran the diagnostic tool as stated and this is the results:

You are using a copy of Windows from a computer later than yours. It is not valid for your computer. You are using an OEM SLP copy, ("factory installed")
Windows License Type: OEM SLP
Windows OS version: 6.1.7600.2.00010300.0.0.003that was not installed at the factory at all. It may have been installed by a friend or in a repair shop but it is not valid on this computer.
Your computer was manufactured on April 29, 2009
<Date>20090429000000.000000+000</Date>
but Windows 7 was not released to manufacturing until July 24, 2009, three months later.
Your copy of Windows was copied from a later computer. You need to restore the original Vista or purchase a full license copy of Windows 7. This copy will never pass the Widnows Activation Technoloy.

Thanks...and wow. This sucks. I wonder if this is a practice of Emachine because I'm not the only one that this happened to. I did send it in for repair on the power supply and that's when everything started. Again thanks for you help and I'm going to buy a license copy this weekend.Saturday, August 6, 2011 11:33 AM

Who did you send it in to for repair? If it's eMachine (Acer) then it's their responsibility to fix the problem.
