  • Thank you for your quick answer.

I can confirme that downgrading the rollup 12 to rollup 11 for crm server correct the problem.  The others rollups (router, srs, crm client for outlook) remain in rollup 12.

During my research, i find two others problems.

During my test, the user acting as the crm user for the outlook client has a email address in his crm setting of a crm contact.

For example :  the crm user is     a_user@mydomain.com.  In Settings/administration/users, in the field "primary email address", we have a_contact@mydomain.com , email address of a crm contact.  The correct email address of the user is a_user@mydomain.com.  In this case, when i create an appointment in outlook tracked in crm, after the sync between outlook and crm, the appointment is created in crm, then incredible but true the appointment is deleted in outlook.  After correcting the email address for the crm user, the appointments are not more deleted !!!!

    The second problem is :

After downgrading rollup 12 to rollup 11, the ifd settings are lost.  I must run the ifdtools to correct this.

  • We had the same problem. The solution was to uninstall rollup12 from the crm application server.

  • Hello,

Does the Update Rollup 13 fix this issue?

    Thursday, October 21, 2010 12:13 PM
  • Bug fix to be released before UR14 - no ETA as yet...

    Monday, October 25, 2010 8:51 PM
  • Does anyone have any new information about this bug.

Any information from MS would be good, but especially a vertified confirmation that they are workign on it, and when (aprox.) a fix will come?

  • Looks like UR14 is already released: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2389019 and this fix is indeed included: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2447256.  Interested to hear from anyone who has the problem whether this fix works for them...

  • Has anyone here experiencing the problem been able to try this fix yet?

At least one user I'm aware of reports that it does not fix the problem for them but details of the exact nature of the problem the fix is designed for and any additional steps to enable are pretty thin on the ground in the KB article.  See the following LinkedIn group post for more details: http://www.linkedin.com/groupAnswers?viewQuestionAndAnswers=&discussionID=30277910&gid=21231&commentID=26613684&trk=view_disc

  • We've had this problem since rollup 13 with one iPhone user and one Android user. Looking to go to rollup 14 this week. Will report back and see if it fixes the sync issue.

  • Limited feedback here  http://www.linkedin.com/groupAnswers?viewQuestionAndAnswers=&discussionID=30277910&gid=21231&commentID=26613684&trk=view_disc suggests that it may not and that another hotfix should be released around 15th December.  This would then hopefully be included in UR15.

However would be very interested to hear if UR14 fixes the problem for you if you are applying anyway.

  • I have applied rollup 14 and it does not fix the issue. I just made two appointments in Outlook - one comes from CRM (synced over) and one I made in Outlook directly. The one from CRM will NOT sync over to my iPhone.

Looks like rollup 14 is NOT the solution for us.

  • Hello everyone,

our customer is using CRM 4.0 with UR 14. Last year the CRM service provider of this customer commited a bunch of customizations and the UR12 or UR13 into the system. Since this moment we realized that users will receive error emails with the above mentioned content when an appointment is created and the CRM sync has been made. The error still occurs with UR14. This error occurs with Windows Mobile 6.1, Windows Mobile 6.5 and iPhones (no Android in use).

We made a trace on client and server but the results did not shew any usefull information. The next time when I reproduce the error I will take a look at the Exchange Log (I will set all logs to Expert via Powershell).

A short information about the environment:
    1. HP ProLiant ML370 G5 with Windows 2003 R2 SP2 as CRM Webserver
    2. IBM System X3650 M3 (2x Intel X5650 and 32 GB RAM) as Hyper-V R2 with VM with Windows Server 2008 R2 for SQL 2008 R
    3. old IBM Server (P4 based Xeon with 8 GB RAM) with Windows 2003 x64 for Exchange 2007 SP3 UR3

I really hope, that the issue will be fix, soon.

  • For those that are not members of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM. group on LinkedIn and unable to follow the thread above:

    1. One user, Jukka, received seemingly updated versions of the hotfix included in UR14 (same KB number).  He's posted them here: http://support.ensto.com/crm/CRMv4.0-KB2447256-i386-Server-ENU.exe and here: http://support.ensto.com/crm/CRMv4.0-KB2447256-amd64-Server-ENU.exe.  He was advised to remove UR14 before applying.
    2. These seem to have worked for him and an number of others although one person says that they still have the problem when reminders are used.
    3. A number of others are waiting for a more fully tested fix which looks like it should be included in UR15 (see next).
    4. There is finally a response from Microsoft.  Chad Rexin (Senior Support Escalataion Engineer - Northamerica Microsoft Dynamics CRM) says: "This is a know issue and is currently scheduled to be included in Microsoft CRM 4 Update Rollup 15 pending the final testing of the rollup, which should be available sometime later this month, January 2011. Unfortunately, I know it puts some customers in a bind due to the large number of good fixes included in Rollups 12, 13, and 14, but if all goes well, rollup 15 should allow you to take advantage of those fixes and also address the ActiveSync issue with mobile devices that you are seeing."
    5. Intesting that this issue has seemingly received far more attention in a private LinkedIn group than in these forums - I'd recommend joining the Microsoft Dynamics CRM. LinkedIn group if you have not already done so.

    Regards, Simon.

  • The LinkedIn Microsoft Dynamics CRM. group is now a open group apparently.  The earlier thread ( http://www.linkedin.com/groupAnswers?viewQuestionAndAnswers=&discussionID=30277910&gid=21231&commentID=26613684&trk=view_disc) has been archvied read only and accessible to members only.  A new public thread continues here: http://www.linkedin.com/groupAnswers?viewQuestionAndAnswers=&discussionID=39898883&gid=21231&commentID=29642236&trk=view_disc

UR15 has now been released and apparently includes an updated version of the 2447256 hotfix: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=2449283

See also this related thread in this forum: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/crm/thread/2d7b179c-480c-44cf-a183-b490bd1d81eb at least one user there suggests that this has worked for them.
