This has been downloaded, probably because I use Office 2007 (Home and Student). It will not install - always fails. Attempts to get another copy fail as MS says it is already downloaded. So it sits in task bar; will not install, cannot delete it, will not update . What do I do??
One quick thing to check: Installation of KB949810 requies that the Task Scheduling service be running. Check yours to see if it is.For great advice on all topics XP, visit http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp

Hi Dan. I checked and that particular service was disabled. I have set it to 'Auto'. Odd thing is, the download has disappeared - I have not seen it for a few days, and the last auto update installed 16 items but the Office Genuine.... was not one of them
Thanks very much for your rapid solution to the problem
