An unauthorized change was made to Windows:
You will no longer recieve notifications, including those about your license or activation. Use the link below to find out how to fix your system.
Error: 0xC004D401
Description: The security processor reported a system file mismatch error.
I got this message today after returning to my Dell M1530 from playing on the Wii. I'm on Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit. I've never had this problem before, so this is very odd to me. I got another message telling me I may be a victim of software piracy, and windows Genuine validation keeps failing. I've researched this error to no avail.
Thanks in advance for your help

It just means a critical system file has been modded. Usually one for activation/validation. A repiar install or sometimes, if required, a clean install will fix it (if you do a clean install, make sure to backup.) Try doing a virus / spyware scan.

Motherboardlove,
Yes a file has been modded. We need the customer to FIRST provide the results for the MGA Diagnostic so we may analyze what they are currently experiencing. The goal is to provide a resolution vs. a repair install or clean installation. Repair installation and clean installations are very time consuming so if there are other alternatives we should look for all other possible avenues first. Please lets get the results first prior to providing any resolutions.
Thank you motherboardlove,
