Certiport vs. MOS Authorized Testing Center RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone,

I am a little confused. I want to take a MOS exam, so I went to Certiport to locate my nearest testing center and there is actually none in my country which is Kazakhstan.

However, some of our local testing centers say they can actually give me a MOS exam as they claim to be a Microsoft Office Specialist Authorized Testing Center.

So what is exactly these MOS Authorized Testing Centers?

Why does official Microsoft certification page only provide Certiport link and there is no mentioning anywhere about these MOS Authorized Testing Centers?

I would really appreciate any help in making things clear.

    Thanks.

  • The Certiport exams are absolutely nothing to do with Microsoft, which is why they direct you to Certiport.

Certiport is the provider of the MOS exams and has Authorised Testing Centres around the world set up to provide MOS exams.  It's quite possible that Certiport's listing of ATCs is not up to date - to check, I recommend you go to www.certiport.com and get in touch with them to ask about ATCs in your area.

    Good luck with your exams!

  • I've never heard of those either and was under the impression that Certiport were the only ones authorised to arrange MOS certification exams.  I will escalate your question to Microsoft and hopefully they'll be able to provide some clarification.
