Error Importing Solution into CRM 2013 Production Organization: The entity relationship role of the referencing entity is required when creating a new one-to-many entity relationship mls_activitycodes_SocialActivities. RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have recently upgraded our CRM 2011 to CRM 2013.  On our development organization our Social Activity entity has 75 N:1 relationships.  In our Production it only has 30.  However we are able to enable the walls and activate what we need to.  When we make changes in development and want to import into production using solutions, we are unable to.  We get the following error:

The entity relationship role of the referencing entity is required when creating a new one-to-many entity relationship mls_activitycodes_SocialActivities.

mls_activitycodes is a custom entity, none of our custom entities seems to have a relationship with the social activity entity.

Not sure why that is but need to correct it.  Anyone have any ideas on how to do this?  I've tried importing a solution from development with all entities including all required components, and we can't manually add the relationships.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Since I didn't get any answers on this site I had to contact Microsoft Support directly for the solution.  In case anyone else experiences this issue, the problem was that our development CRM and production CRM were at different versions.  Once we updated the production environment the problem went away.
