MapPoint 2010 Linked Data with Motorway Exits RRS feed

  • Question

  • How do i structure linked data for MapPoint 2010 to plot POI's for Motorway Exits i.e. I understand you can search this by using the "&" character e.g. M6 & 5 is Motorway 6 exit 5 ? I wish to have this data in a linked excel spreadsheet and plot many points on Motorways. I've tried using M6 & 5 but MapPoint doesn't recognise this as either the 1st line address or the name field. I've also tried to plot the point manually then export to the POI to an excel sheet then re-import it, but the address is off target. Its only successful if i use Long/Lat coordinates, which i'm hoping not to use (the geocoding route).

  • Try the FindPlaceResults() method instead of the FindAddressResults() method. This is described as searching "places" and pushpins in the same manner as the "Place" tab on the Find dialog box.
