install adobe flashplyer fails

  I was trying to follow the 2012 Olympcs on nbc and I was prompted to install a new version of Flashplayer and when I did the install failed telling me I have a newer version than I was installing. I could not watch because I being prompted to install a newer version, so I uninstalled the old version and now I cannot even install any version. Help, please
