Domain Name user/password RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

I'm looking to see if there is an option to retrieve the password for the domain name that I set up when I established my home server.  I'm assuming the xxxxx is the username where xxxxx= https://xxxxx.homeserver.com

For some reason my remote access has busted (don't know anything that changed and I definitely didn't change any passwords) and now when I try to repair I get a message that states:

"The password for your domain name service provider user account is not correct"

The only link available is "Retype the password" and when I click it I get a username/password dialogue box.

  • Figured it out, duh!

I did change something recently, I put security on my account for two-step authentication and this is one where I had to generate a new app specific password...Like I said...duh.

Thanks for the response and sorry for the waste of time.

  • I suspect that you have not used your Windows Live (or whatever it is called) account for some time in which case it times out. There is no known way of getting your Domain name back without it!
