  • Fo such a large amount of computers, volumn licensing may be a more appropriate method since you can deply it over the netwrok faster.

  • Hello motherboardlove,

The Licensing Terms for Volume Licensing of the Windows Operating Systen require that each computer receiving a Volume License upgrade must first have a full license for the Windows OS (or qualifying previous version of the Windows OS) before it can receive a Volume Licensing upgrade.  ALL Windows Volume Licenses are upgrade licenses only.

It may turn out for the OP that Volume Licensing does deliver value for his situation, but since we have no idea what that situation is right now, the best first step is to ensure that all desktops have a base Windows license from which to proceed.

  • Hello Dan,

I think that he may have not been very clear about his quiestion. He didn't say that he had non-genuine software, he only said that he wanted a XP license. Also, the second link is OEM software, and may not applicable in this case because OEM software is intended to be included with a PC to be sold (The OP wishes to buy it for his company).

    Hello tlabcreations,

I'm not quite sure what you meant buy that, but the links that Dan sent you are intended if you did not previously have genuine software and wish to get genuine software, then the first link that Dan sent will be fine. However, if you do not have a non-genuine Windows XP version, you must buy a full Retail (not OEM) to install XP. If you already have a older cersion of Windows, VL may be for you.
