  • Most exams require practical experience (by practical I mean working with the technology covered in the exam on a daily basis, not using it while studying).  As per the overview section for the exam:

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exam.aspx?id=70-461

"This exam is intended for SQL Server database administrators, implementers, system engineers, and developers. withtwo or more years of experience, who are seeking to prove their skills and knowledge in writing queries."

I've had exposure to this exam and can confirm that you will need more experience than just studying SQL Databases in a course.

  • Hi,

it can vary from person to person and depends on your knowledge. Someone will need a week and another person needs three months. A big help is if the exam content is part of your daily work.
