Outlook 2010 & 2013 sharing calendars

  I am wondering will network speed in the building have discrepancies with sharing my Outlook calendar, because when I try to share my Outlook Calendar 2013 with a 2010 Outlook user, which doesn't allow me to share calendars. Could it be two different years of Outlook, or my bandwidth is bottle-nicking?
