I have problems.
1. One night I was in the library and my computer was updating but the library was about to close in 2 mins. so I had to cut off my Laptop.
Since that night every time I turn on my laptop, before I have to type in my password, a a purple screen with the words Please Wait appear and I have to turn it off and back on a second time.
What should I do?
2. My F2 - F12 buttons do not work any more?
What should I do?
3. And finally what is the best anti - virsus software to get and one of my screws came off the front of my laptop, where can I get another screw just like it?

1.)System Restore to a time point before the library incident.
Updates that take place out of the OS require direct control of windows files/registry entries that are otherwise in use during the normal operation of the operating system.
Shutting down the system during these updates can damage key windows files or registry hives causing paramount issues with your operating system.
2.)Which may relate to the binding of your F2-F12 key's.
3.)There is no best, a singular a/v program can't catch all issues. But, one is better than non. Free scanners are acceptable for PERSONAL USE ONLY. AVG/Malware Bytes/Sophos Virus Removal Tool/PC-Cillan(TrendMicro) offer limited free versions for home use.
3a.) Screws specific to your laptop would be best searched for by vendor/brand directly or a reseller. (They are not types you will be able to access easily say at 'home depot/ace hardware/insert hardware store here'
