Can you put an HPC head node on an Azure VM? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm very new to both HPC and Azure, but we're starting to investigate this now. I see that HPC now supports non-MPI Azure compute nodes. I've seen a little talk of trying to put the head node (and maybe broker) on an Azure VM role, but didn't see any follow up to it. I'm guessing that means it hasn't worked out well. Microsoft doesn't seem to support this, but has anyone tried to force the head node onto the cloud? I'm curious of the experience, even if it didn't work.

    Thanks
