Brother Scanner not recognized in Windows 10 Pro

    Question

  • Brother MFC J870DW scanner not recognized in Windows 10 PRO, I have COMPLETELY removed all software and drivers 3 times and reinstalled, the last time I left the pc off overnight before reinstalling, this was done following Brother directions Completely.  Installation Diagnostics show: Printer Driver, Scanner Driver and PC-fax Sending all connected.  PC_Fax receiving and Remote Setup Failed each time.

In order to scan a check for bank deposit it worked as it should with my laptop using Win 10 Home but got error with Desktop using Win 10 Pro that scanner not recognized, Windows Fax and Scan Function correctly.

    Any ideas to correct this?

  • I can't use my scanner either since I upgraded to Windows 10. I have a MFC 7340 using Paperport.  When I run Paperport it tells me the scanner is not attached.  In the Device Manager it says that the drivers are working properly but Paperport says the scanner is not installed. I've run the diagnostics and it works fine, but when I try to scan to an application I can't use it.
