Windows XP Professional Repair Problem

Question
-
My Windows XP Professional would not start properly so I used the XP Operating System disk to repair the program. And it apparantly did, however now once I turn on my computer, go through the setup menu then XP starts and as soon as the welcome screen appears I get the following message: " A problem has prevented Windows from accurately checking the status of the license for this computer. To proceed your copy of Windows must be activated with Microsoft-Do you want to activate Windows now?" And when I hit OK the computer proceeds, but only the computer background appears-no icons, no Microsoft acivation prompt nothing..........Please Help!!!
Thank you

Hello TAB360,
In addition to Dan's post, it sounds like the Repair may have gone bad somehow. You may want to retry the repair and see if it you get better results.
Sorry we couldn't be more help,
