Hello bgavazzi, install the One Care trial - http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/3/default.htm then to activate open One Care, select "Subscribe" and when asked for a Live ID enter the Live ID and password associated with your One Care subscription. Your subscription status will be recognized and One Care will activate.

Thank you, I tried that and received an Error ID 0020-80070643, that says OneCare installation could not completeone or more components of windows Live One Care did not install successfully please contact support for assistance with correcting this issue. I have also gone to the hub PC and deleted the two other computers that were on my group so I should have two remaining subscriptions with this eventually being one of the two.

Hello bgavazzi, the 0020 error indicates the antivirus component of One Care failed to install properly. If the computer previously had Norton or McAfee installed try using the uninstall tool.
Norton uninstall tool - http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039
McAfee uninstall tool - http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
If neither of these products were previously installed I suggest contacting support for help. How to reach support - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecareinstallandactivate/thread/30400b52-7f26-4ba0-bc18-17e305329d90

Thank you,
I ran the uninstall tools for both norton and mcaffee, one of these products came pre loaded on this computer but because I knew I wouldn't be using it I uninstalled it quickly from the control pannel. Both products seemed to be removing something and after reboot a ballon showed up in the lower right hand corner of the screen that said that I needed to check my virus protection status so I thought the process had worked. I tried to install the trial version and received the 0020-80070643 error message. I will try to contact support. Thank you for your help.Friday, January 9, 2009 12:29 AM
