    If I were to use our CA and issue a private cert to be used on the external interface FQDN of our Edge server, would the external user just get a warning about the cert not being from a trusted CA or would it not work at all?

    It won't work at all for Federation and PIC

    External users that have trusted your Internal CA will work fine because they will trust the Certificates you installed on your EDGE Server

    If any of the 3 checks are unsuccessful then it just fails you won't see any dialog boxes like with websites and Certificates

     

    Checks:

    - FQDN must match

    - Certificate Date must be valid

    - You must trust issuer of certificate
