Office XP w/ Front Page Activation RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm not able to validate my copy of Office XP w/ Front Page. I'm running several versions of Office; 2003 and 2007 came from MSDN, but XP was purchased. I keep receiving an error indicating that it's not activated, but when I attempt to activate any of the Office XP products I receive a message telling me the product is already activated.

Here's the report from the validation utility. I'm not sure what the <LegitResults> codes mean, but please let me know how to resolve this issue.

  • Hi Scott,

    Can you try this?

    1) Go to: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data\
    2) Delete the data.dat file.
    3) This data.dat file is for Office (not OGA).
    4) Once the file has been deleted, open FrontPage and ACTIVATE it.
    5) After product activation is successful, let’s try revalidating (this is the OGA part; Office Genuine Advantage): http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/office/Validate.aspx?displaylang=en

Was that successful?  I suspect that you may still have issues.  The Office Professional 2003 edition may have a problem, but it will be hard to say until you perform the steps above and repost a new diagnostic output.

    Thanks,
    Michelle
