Powershell script to turn on windows 10 computer RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to remotely turn on windows 10 computers with a powershell script so that i can push BIOS updates to them with another powershell script. The script i currently have to turn on the computers works fine on windows 7 computers but doesn't work on windows 10 computers. The "BIOS update push script" works just fine on windows 10 and 7 computers. Does windows 10 not support the scripts that turn on the computer? or is there already a script to turn on windows 10 computers remotely over a network?

  • "Turn on"??

Have you checked to be sure the plug is in the socket?

How are you trying to "turn on" a computer remotely.  Do you have some sort of remote control?

If you are asking about WOL then be sure the systems are configured for WOL.  By default they are not.

You cannot turn on a computer remotely without a very long arm.

What code is it that you think is capable of turning on a computer?
