I have a laptop that upgraded to installed Vista business on from XP. I was having some issues with it and the vista install was sitting around not being used so I thought why not.
After installation I checked the network and I could see the office computer (Vista Home) and the home server. After I went through all the updates and adding back software I then went to install the home connector software but the wizard could not navigate/find the server. I copied over the connector software and eventually got it to install on laptop, though it still did not find the home server.
I cannot get into the console or the shared files even though I configured the server to do backups up from the office computer. Strange things is the office computer cannot see the laptop on the network while the laptop can see the office. I was having no problems with the console when the laptop was using XP, so I do not think it is anything to do with my router.
Any ideas why this is happening? I would appreciate any help.
