Proper way to restart OCS? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Two Questions.

    1.  What is the proper way to restart OCS?  Shutdown the services?  Reboot?... etc... Everytime I reboot, the services will to restart properly.

    2.  Does anyone have a good HOW TO install OCS?  I want to make sure I installed this correctly.

  • Rebooting the server is fiune as the services will start in the correct order based on dependancies.  Are you saying that rebooting your server IS or IS NOT working correctly?

    Here's a good walkthrough for deploying OCS 2007 R2:

  • The services will not start up properly.  I had to re-run the setup to get it to start up again.

  • That is defintely not normal.  What errors are you getting when the server starts up?

  • One thing we had to do is add retries for some of our services.  Due to the number of services that were trying to start at startup, some of the OCS services failed, so we used the "recovery" option for some services and now we don't have a problem.
