JUNK!!! RRS feed

  • General discussion

While my computer seems to  be protected adequately, i don't get to use it much. One Care is always doing something that pegs my CPU Usage at 100%. I constantly have to go to my taskmanager and end the process that One Care has going. If I don't, my aplications just stop. WHAT GOOD IS ONE CARE IF IT SOAKS UP ALL MY CPU USAGE??? I tried it on a free introductory offer, and now I'm going to go spend some money on something that allows me to use my computer. I have a 2.8 Gig processor, and it soaks it all up!!!

  • What specific process is using the CPU?

Typically, this is caused by a conflict on the PC, usually with another antivirus/antispyware program that remains active on the PC when OneCare is installed. There are other causes, including services that are not running when they should be running and services running that should not be running.

What was your previous security software and was it completely removed?

Have you looked at this post?

That post describes a pretty significant problem with 2.0 that should have been completely resolved with the updates released subsequent to the initial version of 2.0 that was made available. It may still be worth looking at the information in that post.

And, support is an option for you, though it will be via email as a trial user:
