Hard Drive not showing up in Windows explorer (8)

    Question

  • Hi There,

I plugged in my brand new Seagate expansion drive 2.5 today and initially it showed up. When trying to set it up for scheduled backup I had the message that it was disconnected. I assumed that message referred to my old identical Seagate 3.5 that I no longer use. I opened the Seagate folder and ran Setup. This prompted me to format the drive. Now it's not showing up in windows explorer, although when I search for it in device manager it is functioning normally. Apparently I need to assign a letter to it but I can't figure out how to do that. Can anyone help me please?
