ffmpeg screen recording quality RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings,

    Here is a part of ffmpeg argument I use to record screen : -c:v libx264 -r 60 -pix_fmt yuv420p

Even if the frame rate is set to 60, it doesn't seem to be a real 60-frame capture, it doesn't differ from 30.

I'm new to ffmpeg. Although it is probably well-documented, I can't put instructions  into example.

    I have got few questions:

1- Is it possible to record with different video qualities like 1080p, 720p and ... ? What is the best quality screen record option ?

2- Can it record audio from Microphone and capture screen at the same time? Maybe recording each of these separately  and then merging them together ?

3- What is maximum length of screen record, regardless to size issues?

I appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
