  • Stephen --

I have a legitimate, fully functioning version of Aloha Bob PC Relocator. When I follow the instructions to upgrade it to the current edition, I reach a non functioning server. I gather from what's on this forum that MS 'embraced & extended' it in some way, apparently  having something to do with Vista. I've just bought a new computer and want to use the s/w I purchased to move my applications and files, but I can't seem to see how to do this. I know it's possible, because there are multiple current pieces of s/w on the market that make the same claims.

Can you please advise as to how to achieve the application/file transfer that I'm attempting to do?

    Thank you,

    Adam

  • Acaper,

Your best option is visiting http://www.fixya.com/support/eisenworld/software_utilities . It appears Eisenworld is the corporation which either designed or supports AlohaBob PC Relocator. I am not sure if this information is correct so please reference your original packaging materials which came with your product and look for their correct Technical Support telephone number and/or website.  I briefly took a look out there. Also you may use http://live.com and search information surrounding what you need.  The Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) forum does not provide technical support for non-Microsoft software. Also we do not provide technical support for Microsoft software. We focus only on concerns customers have with Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) and support issues surrounding WGA.

    Take care,

  • Acaper,

Microsoft purchased the company Apptimum (formerly Eisenworld) and had plans to incorporate the ability of AlohaBob PC Relocator to transfer installed applications from an old computer to a new one into an application called the Windows Easy Transfer Companion.

Early scuttlebutt said it was going to be one of the Vista Ultimate Extras.

There was a beta available for download for almost a year, but within the last month all download links for the beta have rotted.

So either Microsoft has decided to abandon the idea, or they are readying the rollout of the final program.  Consult your ouija board or eightball for the real answer! :-)
