HPC Node Manager Fails to start on install: RRS feed

  • Question

  • There is a question a lot like mine but there is no resolution stated. I had the Windows Server 2008 HPC SP1 Cluster working fine, then a group policy got pushed froma 2003 DC that broke things. We have removed the cluster from the policy and still can not get the HPC Node Manager service to start. Now I have removed HPC of the head node and re-booted several times, and tried re-installing. It gets to the "Starting Services" and HPC Node Manager Fails to start.
I have also removed the server from the domain, rebooted, and re-added to domain. NOTHING. We can not find anything in teh event log saying there is a problem, nothing in the security log saying the is a permissions issue?

    Microsoft HPC pack 2008
at the last  "Microsoft HPC pack 2008" step, got a message :Service 'HPC node manager service 'failed to start.Verify that you have  sufficient privileges to start system services.
    Any suggestion?

  • Does anything in %ccp_data%logfiles provide a clue?
