Recently deleted spam posts still remain intact on front page, can't even get any forum updates!

Question

It's been hours since this massive spam attack ended, and I'm starting to notice bugs on the TechNet Forums.
First, the spam posts remain intact on the front page, even after they were deleted. I suspect that I haven't cleared the cache, but when I do so, the posts are still there.
And second, I am not getting any forum updates on the front page at all. I normally see updates on forum threads when content is modified or posted, but now it's stuck on the same old content.
What could be causing this?

As much as I remember from previous cases like this, once a message get out of sync and it does not recognized as answer even so it was marked, then the only way to fix it is contact the team.
* I am not talking about not sync during the issue but threads that still stay out of sync after the forum continue to work well. I reported several cases like this
