  • Hi,

I have been dealing with Microsoft Server since NT 4.0, as a result, I do have fair knowledge on Ms. Server OS and fundamental of IT Infrastructure component, such as Security, Network and etc.

Would like to hear any suggestion that could helps to prepare for the Ms Exams at minimum cost, self-reading is not going to work for me.

  • On my path to certification, CBT Nuggets and Testout are great for getting a great overall idea of your strengths and weaknesses.  You can then use MS Press or Sybex books for additional clarification on the areas of the test you might be having problems.  I also took the practice tests included in the sybex book to get an idea of how the questions are formatted.  The testing process is not so bad after to do your first one.  Classroom help most of the time I found were off topic or not worth the money I spent on them.

  • Well...best suggestion is a combination of both books (MS Press or Sybex) and computer based training (CBT Nuggets, Trainsignal, TestOut).  I'm not sure what you mean by "minimum cost", but you'll find this combination a lot cheaper than classroom or e-learning.

  • in my opinion,
if you study hard your exams.
The key to pass any MS exam is just to get a good book and do pracitice and practice .
Then you can find some online resource ,you just google microsoft pdf or ebook ,you can find a bundle of such materials.
en ,of course ,such materials are just for reference ,you should do some test ,which can help you better prepare your exams.
besides ,some advice from those expriencing your exams or some useful microsoft certification blogs  is useful for u.

    finally ,hope you pass .
    Good luck with you.

  • :) Hi, I'm started from MS DOS 3.0
    any way IMHO
If you can find - 4-5 PC's for tests you can setting up you own test lab... you can do there all what would you like :) really... or you can get on of powerfull PC and using MS Hyper-V or MS Virtual PC what ever...
    OR
you can find in yours place any IT community probably an Microsoft Certified Professionals Club, like we have in my place (I'm a one of club lead), or probably you can discuss with an CPLS they have it...
next step if you have no software for testing you can downdload all what you need from MS site but trial version, and of course as our collegues said you should using MS press books

    wish all the best,
    Alex
