Sending email through workflows RRS feed

  • At a client we created some entities: BankAccount and BankOverdraft. The bank has two types of clients which are individuals(contacts in default CRM) and corporates(accounts in default CRM). The BankAccount belongs either to a corporate or individual. A BankOverdraft belongs to a BankAccount. I need to notify clients whenever their guarantee is 3 months from expiring.

    I have a workflow which checks if its 3 months from overdraft expiry date but its not sending the email.

    The relationship between an account and overdraft is 1:n and that of account and corporate/individual is n:1

    The workflow is successfully checking the condition(3 months before expiry date) but its not sending the email.

    Good is not good enough when best is expected !!!

  • Check the status of email. Is it pending state or sent state.

  • Using workflow you can send the email to Account and not to contact because workflow knows about account and doesnot know about the contact associated with that account. You might have to use a plugin or custom workflow assembly available on codeplex to send email to child record.
