Error activating Windows 10 with my WinPro 8 64-bit product key RRS feed

  • Question

  • My WinPro 8 64-bit product key is <redacted>  which I have used to activate my Windows 8 version. But Windows 10 won't let me use this key for Windows 10 activation.

    Please fix.

    <Redacted>

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

    I'd ask in the Windows 10 forum on Microsoft Community.

    Don't include product keys or PII though.

    As the Microsoft Community is on a different platform, we cannot move the question for you.

    Once there, click on Participate near the top of the screen, and select 'Ask a Question' or 'Start a Discussion'

  • Hello,

    The MSDN, TechNet and Expression Library Feedback forum is to "Help improve the Library Experience in MSDN, TechNet and Expression by providing feedback on features, bugs, look and feel or by just providing suggestions". This is not a support forum.

    As it's off-topic here, I am moving the question to the Where is the forum for... forum.

  • You can do this now on the latest ISO released by Microsoft.

    Also when you upgrade to Windows 10 a new key is generated, you must get this new key out of the system and document it before you must reload.

    Previvously you had to install windows 8 run windows updates, then upgrade to windows 10. But you can now using the most recent ISO image just install fresh and use the W8 key. You still get a new W10 key.

    Also if you have issues just call Windows Activation Support and they will help you right there.
