What is right way to Qualify Leads? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have more than 5000 Acccounts in Dynamics 2011. Company called General Motors is already included.

I would like to qualify lead called John Smith who is working for General Motors. I Qualified and checked Account, Contact and Oppotunity. Then I was told about duplication, but I proceeded. As a result I got 2 General Motors as Account in the CRM.

When I select only Opportunity with Qualify, I don't get John Smith connected with the General Motor. I can see him under Account/Sales/Opportunity.

    What is best practise?

  • Hi Kenny,

The only thing we have to remember is on qualifying lead is:

1.) if the company in lead form already exist in our accounts, then no need to check account ,just pick potential customer and remaining contact and opportunity should be selected.

2.) if company and contact person also there in account and contact respectively, then we should only check oppurtuinity.

3.) if no such records found on account and contact with company name and firstname and lastname in lead form, we need to check all the three.

  • Hi Kenny, as up to me the only solution (except manuel processing) is overriding the Qualify functionality by preparing a Dialog Prosess which makes necessary duplicate detection controls and behave according to its results)

    Kind Regards.
