    I would like to know why "quick scan" takes so long?

    You will be waiting a long time asking the question on this Windows Home Server Forum - try at answers.microsoft.com. When you do you would be better supplying more information such as how long is "so long", size of disks being checked, computer specifications etc.

    I'd ask in the Microsoft Security Essentials sub forum of the Virus and Malware forum on Microsoft Community.

    As the Microsoft Community is on a different platform, we cannot move the question for you.
