Can no longer connect via console, cannot install Connector, Error Connector versions do not match

OK, Been trying to find my answer but it seems I have issues from more than one thread, so posting my problem here.
Been running WHS HP475 (upgraded ram) since day one and hardly any problems. Just when I really think it's safe to completely trust WHS, I have a serious but hopefully solvable problem.
Have 5 machines running and recently upgraded 3 of them. Tho' this problem did not start right after upgrades but shortly thereafter
Now my clients are;
1. Win 7 Pro 64 (Previously was Win 7 RC 64)
2. Win 7 Home 64 (Previously was Vista 32)
3. Vista Home 32 Laptop (previously was XP Home 32)
4. XP Home 32
5. Vista Home 32
I can connect via RDP to the server.
I can Ping both IP addy and name and get results
I CANNOT connect via server:55000
I cannot open a console and console re-install fails with error "Cannot complete at this time"
Connector troubleshooter gets 11 errors the first being Connector versions do not match.
I would normally do a reinstall BUT, that would erase my backups. And after reviewing upgraded clients, I now realize each of the 3 client machines has folders that need to be recovered from the backups. Where are the Client backups stored and can I copy off the backup data files as a safety precaution?
I did an install of PP3 thinking that it might solve the Win 7 Pro 64 bit client problem, but no luck. Still cant get connector to install.
I have deleted connector via add and remove, AND deleted the folder for Windows Home server (and the connector subfolders), so I know that is not the issue.
Any ideas??

To clarify: you are unable to open the Console from any of the 5 clients? What about opening the Console from the server desktop? Did you recently install any add-ins or apps on your server?Sunday, November 22, 2009 6:31 AMModerator -
Kariya,
Yes, I am unable to open or re-install the console from any of the clients. I can however, open it via RDC on the server desktop. But when I just tried, got an IIS failure error. Tried again and it opened fine.
There are no new add-ins or programs on the WHS server.
If I could locate the client backup data files and copy them off for safety, I would do a reinstall.

Same issue here since PP3 Beta
That on top of the now long standing remote domain access issues that a lot of people are suffering.

See the WHS Home Computer Backup and Restore Technical Brief on how to backup your backup database (or just use the BDBB add-in).Monday, November 23, 2009 6:54 AMModerator
