CRM 2011 SDK: Deploying exising Plugin-code to new CRM organization RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a new CRM 2011 organization that needs the exact same plugins, custom workflows ++ as my first CRM 2011 organization.
That means I already have the CRM solution with all the plugins Source code.
But how can I deploy this to the new organization? Do I need to right click all the entities in CRM Explorer and choose "Create plug-in" first? If that's a case, do I just delete the autogenerated plugin-code, as I already have the Source code?

The best thing would be to deploy directly to new Organization :-)

  • Hello Marius,

The easiest way is to create a solution with the things you want to have in the new organization and then export the solution and import in in the new organization.

Remember to add the steps to the assemblies and if the plugins are not sandboxed you need to be deployment admin to be able to import the solution.

  • Hi,

Your CRM solution would not contain plugin source code, but actually a compiled dll.

You should be able to simply import your old solution into the new environment.

    No coding required.
