RemoteFX on Windows HPC RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

As my head node is doing some OpenGL GPU-based off-screen rendering, I have to turn off the default WDDM by installing Microsoft Cap driver.

As such, I have to enable RemoteFX. However, I realise RemoteFX is not found on the list of Server Manager roles. Is there any way to activate this feature? My head node is running on Windows Server 2008 HPC R2 SP1, with an attached Nvidia M2070Q GPU.

        Thanks for helping!

    Kind Regards,

  • RemoteFX is available through Server 2008 R2 SP1 with Hyper-V. RemoteFX is a feature built into the new RDC. THe only way I've seen to manually configure RemoteFX is when adding an appropriate RemoteFX adapter to a Virtual Machine.

With my own research into RemoteFX, I'm attempting to see if HPC GPU-based computing allows multiple VM's to dynamically utilize all the GPUs computing power or does RemoteFX with HPC still require individual Adapater assignment.
