Windows 2012 - Server VM Hungs at welcome screen and never allow me to login

    Question

  • For the past 6 months, we are facing issue with Windows 2012 VM servers. This is not specific to the same server, randomly it is happening.

    Issue:-

We receive a request from users that the server is not able to take RDP , when we login in to VM console and CRTL + ALT + DEL then enter user name and password (either domain or local credential tried both) the server will be in WELCOME SCREEN and the dotted circle will keep on rotating. We have only option to reset the server. After reboot we could able to login to the machines. We have Win 2003, 2008 and 2012 servers and never face a problem with 2003 and 2008. And only facing problem with win 2012 I can say from JAN 2016. Randomly servers are going in HUNG sate, I cannot say hung state as it was allowing me to type credential through VM console. Searched in all blogs and nothing stating the similar issue.. I have found the below article but it is not the similar issue iam facing..

Verified CPU, Ram are fine and not over utilized, When the issue occur we could able to ping the server from outside and it is not even responding to remote computer management. There wont be any event created during that time

Can anyone please help let me know if have any solutions found. Attached is the below screenshot
