URLs displayed in search results waste screen space & should be omitted. RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I do a search of the forums, for each entry returned there is:
    • the title of the topic
    • a portion of the thread discussion
    • a URL
    • a "Related To" field
As a searcher, the URL portion is useless to me as first level search result information.   It is very unlikely that the URL will be a factor for me in deciding whether or not I will open a particular result for deeper investigation.

The URL belongs in the second level of information i.e. it should be displayed when you open a search result.

I would prefer that the space that the URL presently occupies be dedicated to telling more about the search result.

I also notice that the URL is not a hyper-link, it is only plain text which makes it even more useless.
