A/V Edge video freezing issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have setup OCS 2007 Access Edge/Web Conf Edge on one server and A/V Edge on another.  External access and PIC work fine.  However, the audio/video seems to be an issue.  The A/V Edge has two nics (external has public ip and other has internal ip).  Audio/video works between external and internal users, but there is an initial 2 mins delay where the video freezes.  Audio works fine.  Then video does work after that.  It seems that the public ip is not responding via UDP 3478.

Any ideas on how to resolve the video freezing?

  • HI  hkp11, seems to be a media initialization problem , remember that a serial of ports are needed to make A/V work, so my suggestion is :

First, review all ports on the external side; review all ports in the internal site.

Second, run a validation in the A/V edge server roll, also make a validation on the front end server in the section of AV conferencing, this will sent you any incorrect configuration.

Third one, you mention that UDP 3478 is not available how you deduce this?. Remember that UDP port doesn’t respond pings either telnet request.

Provide the results of the validation, to give you more assistance.

  • Hi Amado,

We determined that the particular DSL connection (old router) we had was causing the video freeze (from about 2-5 mins).  We could see the external A/V edge interface responding, but not the internal on the STUN port via wireshark.  Other external OC A/V conf connections were working fine between external/internal OC users.

    Thanks for your response.
