I am really scared about Vista now. From the sounds of it going to XP from Vista is an upgrade, not a downgrade. Currently I have a Mac and want XP Pro to run through Boot Camp so that I can run some of my older games and some software from work, but now I am too afraid to even try to put Vista on my computer. Why would MS stop selling XP if Vista doesn't work? Can someone tell me if it's worth messing up a perfect Mac with such crappy software?
My nephew, who is intelligent but not an uber-geek, installed Vista Home Premium SP1 on his iMac 24 without anyone's help. He says it runs fine on his iMac.
(Well, OK, I helped him track down drivers for several hardware items because he misplaced his Leopard Installation DVD which has all the Windows drivers.)
If you have older games that are known to run fine on XP, then by all means purchase a genuine copy of XP and install it on your Mac. Just because Leopard can't run the games and programs you want does not make it a bad operating system. For great advice on all topics XP, visit http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp
