Disk error showing message: disk full, please clean up RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

Please help: the scenario is like this
I have a laptop with 2 partitions with each 20 GB (uses windows XP)
C drive (system) has 8 GB free
D drive (data) has 2 GB free
I have a network drive mapped of 100GB & has 50 GB free.
I also have a External hard drive of 1 TB

The file I need to copy has size of 19GB (database file) and is on network drive. When I try to copy it from network drive onto external drive, I get disk error that says no space on external drive whereas it has 900GB free.

I red some related thread, and but can't clean up C drive further. it has only 8GB free.

Please let me know how I should transfer file from network drive onto external HD attached to my machine...

  • Hi this is Windows Home Server Forums, best ask you question on dedicated Windows XP user forum, for example this one.

One suggestion, try and compress (zip) the file before copying.
