AC97" No Audio Device Installed"" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have upgraded to Windows 7 Home from XP. Clean install.

I have no sound and my PC says "No Audio Device Installed" - hunting round the forums this seems to be a common problem.

What can i do to sort it.

    Ideq SFF PC
    P4 3.00GHz
    2048 RAM DDR400
    Windows 7 32 bit
    9550 256Mb Graphics card
    Directx 11
    P4M80P MB

This seems to be a problem for many people.

Any help would be appreciated as we have all our music on this PC and cant listen to it now.

I have tried updates and drivers but no joy.

  • After checking the issue, it seems this is a general Windows 7 related issue. As this forum focuses on Windows SteadyState specific issues, this inquiry would best be posted to Windows 7 forum:

The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us.  Thank you for your understanding.

Also, for your information, you can open Windows Update and check if there is a proper driver for the audio card. Hope this helps!
