Does Windows Home Server support PHP RRS feed

  • Question

  • If I purchase  a home server with the latest level of Windows Home Server preloaded, does WHS support PHP out of the box or do I need to install a PHP engine and a database myself? Thanks

  • You will need to install a PHP engine and database. Note that doing so is unsupported, and you should probably not store database or web site files in the server's shares, because this may cause problems with Drive Extender.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

It certainly does not work out of the box, but nor does it on any Microsoft OS (at least the consumer ones).

I use WHS in a virtual machine, and have decided to do things like this on the host (or another virtual machine), but in my previous installation of WHS (also in virtual machine) I did install PHP, and it worked fine.

  • There is an add-in for PHP in WHS simple and quick and works perfect!
